Short Tank/Life Update

Tank Update: Nothing new, though I'm pretty sure the porcelain crab I had in the little tank is gone. I didn't see him hanging around during my last water change. I'm still really bad at feeding and testing - every week when I do a water change I tell myself, "This is the week I get back on track with regular feeding and water testing!!" Annnnnnd I don't do it. BUT, acros are coloring up nicely and my acan has a bunch of new heads soooo...

Life Update: Wedding planning is going well, other than all the money we are spending (oh well). I'm ahead of the game and really don't find it to be difficult or stressful at all. We got confirmation of our honeymoon booked yesterday, so that's another thing off the list. We're going to Punta Cana in November, so we're definitely looking forward to that!!

I always thought it would be pretty cool to have a saltwater tank, but considered it too difficult, figuring it would take a lot of hard work and patience to have a happy salty environment. Well, about two and a half years ago I found a great deal ($100!) for a 29 gallon BioCube - an all-in-one system that came with tank, lights, pumps, sand, rocks, a couple snails/hermit crabs, a few corals and an urchin. It had been neglected for a while, was low on water, and the sand was extremely dirty. I was so nervous those first few months! When I got my first fish (two clownfish I named Lenny and Squiggy) I was so concerned about their happiness and well being, I gazed at the tank for hours making sure they looked ok and like they enjoyed their new home. Getting Things Done - It's Time for Yard Work

This past weekend I spent some time outside doing yard work, and I'm pretty proud of what I got accomplished. There's still more that needs to be done, but I hurt my back pretty early on in the day and had to call it quits after a few hours. I'll be taking it easy this week and should be back to 100% by the weekend!  Anyway, here's some pics - befores and afters...  First I added some mulch, and big pavers (that's what screwed my back) to the front left side of the house. I also straightened the leaning birdbath and moved the planter (lillies) off the front steps. I need more mulch, probably at last 2 more bags. I only got one bag to start with since I was worried how it would work/look. I am finding conflicting info online as to whether or not I should trim the hibiscus bushes. Unfortunately, they look pretty dead so I have a feeling they didn't make it through the winter (they were supposed to!!). On the right side of the house I weede

Hello 2017

There are many people who think 2016 was an awful, horrible year. With the seemingly high number of celebrity deaths, and the great number of people disappointed in the election, many are looking forward to 2016 being over. However, I think 2016 was a great year! In March, I bought my very first, brand new car. In April, I moved in with my boyfriend. Though my boyfriend had a rough summer working late nights and weekends, we managed to go to two amazing concerts and plenty of summer fests, making it one of the most fun summers I've ever had. December was probably the best month of all - I got a new job in a different department at work and my boyfriend proposed! It was a great ending to 2016, I'm incredibly excited for 2017 and all the new adventures I'm sure are in store!
